Thunder
Pronunciation: THUN-der

    Thunder falls somewhere in between light and heavy horse. His face is straight with dark intelligent eyes, alert ears, and he carries his head high. His body is compact and powerfully muscled, held proudly. He carries his tail high and has the look of being ready to take off at gallop at the drop of a hat.

    Thunder is a light gray, a little dappled on his chest and quarters, but that fades with age. His mane and tail are still dark gray, though his tail is showing signs of white. When he is about fifteen, he should fade to completely white.

    Thunder is good-natured and very active. When he finds a master that is good to him, he loves to see that person’s face. He is very affectionate and loves to go for rides. Yet when battle calls, he drops his playful attitude and will obey every command of his rider. He will anticipate attacks and try to carry Zira out of range or carry her to a weak point where she can fight back. With a good master, like Zira, Thunder is very protective of them. If she were to be thrown from the saddle, Thunder would stand by her, nudge her to her feet and let her mount again instead of running off.

    Originally born into a country lord’s stable in Kanon, Thunder—though he was known differently then—was a riding horse. When Marmo took over Kanon, Thunder’s home was raided and he was taken with the other horses in his stable. He was used as a war horse for the Marmo until the soldier who kept him was killed in battle. Thunder ran off to be later found and taken in by a Kanon freedom fighter. After the war, Thunder’s new owner traveled to Roid for a short time and traded Thunder for a pedigreed stallion.

    Thunder ended up in Kanon again with another owner who used him as a riding horse. He was put up for sale and purchased by the dark elf Zira. He’s been her mount for the last five years.
